Is it really summer without popsicles? Since we’ve all got a bit more time around the house this summer, it’s the perfect opportunity to make a foray into popsicle making. Whether you’re making boozy popsicles for those 21+ or assisting little hands in making healthy juice pops, this is a fun, easy activity that yields a popsicle far superior to the supermarket.
How to freeze your popsicles:
You can find any number of fun popsicle molds online like this one or this one. If you don’t have a popsicle mold, you can always DIY one. All you need is:
- 3 oz Dixie cups
- Popsicle sticks
- Toothpicks and tape to hold stick upright (optional)
Here’s a couple of our favorite summer popsicle recipes.
Each recipe makes 6-8 pops depending on your mold size.

Sour Strawberry Lime Popsicles
Want something that’s face-scrunchingly sour without all the artificial flavors? Here’s how to make our homemade sour popsicles.
Ingredients:
- 1-pint strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 2 cups Limeade
- 3 tablespoons Spiceology Citric Acid (this is the same stuff you’ll find on your favorite sour gummies)
Instructions:
- Wash, hull, and chop strawberries.
- Combine cut strawberries with limeade and mix in a blender or with an immersion blender.
- Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. Place sticks and freeze for 2-4 hours (or until frozen).
- Prior to serving, remove from mold and roll in Citric Acid until you’ve reached your desired level of sourness.

Strawberry Orange Firework Pops
These fun, fruity popsicles crackle like a firework. They’re sure to delight kids and adults alike.
Ingredients:
- 1-pint strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 2 cups orange juice
- 3 tablespoons Spiceology Carbonated Sugar (like Pop Rocks but with more “pop”)
Instructions:
- Wash, hull, and chop strawberries.
- Combine cut strawberries with orange juice and mix in a blender or with an immersion blender.
- Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. Place sticks and freeze for 2-4 hours (or until frozen).
- Prior to serving, remove from mold and roll in Carbonated Sugar.

Purple Monster Pops
There are few things that delight a kid like colorful food. These veggie are a great way to delight little ones while making sure they get a dose of veggies.
Ingredients:
- ⅓ cup orange juice
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons Spiceology Purple Haze
Instructions:
- Mix Purple Haze with orange juice. Pour 1-2 inches into the bottom of the mold. Freeze popsicles.
- Once the orange juice base layer has frozen, remove from the freezer and add pineapple juice. Place sticks and freeze for 2-4 hours (or until frozen).
- Remove from the freezer and enjoy.

Sunday Brunch Bloody Mary Popsicles
These popsicles are great for the 21+ crowd who are looking to indulge in a weekend boozy brunch. Eat outside and cool off with this perfect hair of the dog treat.
Ingredients:
- 6 sticks of celery
- 2 cups Tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons Spiceology Bloody Mary Blend
- Spiceology Flake Sea Salt
Instructions:
- Wash and chop celery stalks into a stick length (about ¾ the length of your mold)
- Mix tomato juice with Bloody Mary Blend
- Pour mixture into molds, add celery sticks. Place in freezer for 2-4 hours.
Remove from freezer and sprinkle with Flake Sea Salt prior to serving.
