Making compound butter is one of the easiest ways to make something ordinary into something extraordinary. It’s so simple to make, you’ll question why you hadn’t tried it sooner.
It only takes a couple of ingredients to make flavored butter – plus a quick stint in the freezer to make it all solid again – and you’re in buttery delicious business. Use these flavored butters on pork, chicken, grilled corn, veggies or anything that needs a little deliciousness upgrade.
Grilled New York Steak Recipe
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 New York Steaks
- 1 tablespoon DIY Steak Seasoning
- 4 tablespoons Infused Butter (see below)
Infused Butters
Black & Bleu Butter
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tablespoons Black & Bleu Spice Rub
Cowboy Crust Butter
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tablespoons Cowboy Crust Spice Rub
Chile Margarita Butter
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tablespoons Chile Margarita Spice Rub
Instructions for Butters:
- In a bowl add the stick of butter and spice rub of choice. Mix well. Place on parchment paper and seal well. Freeze to firm. Repeat with the other 2 butters.
Steak Instructions:
- Heat your grill to medium-high. Season steaks well with DIY Steak Seasoning. Grill to your liking. In the last minute or so, top each steak with a tablespoon of one of the infused butters and serve immediately.
