Ingredients

  • Two 6 oz beef tenderloin filets

  • 2 tablespoons Spiceology Black Magic Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 3 tablespoons butter; reserve 1 of the tablespoons to finish

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 fresh thyme sprig

  • Flaky salt for garnish

Directions

  1. Pat filets dry and season generously with Black Magic Seasoning on all sides.

  2. Heat skillet to medium-high and add neutral oil.

  3. Sear filets 2–3 minutes per side until crust forms.

  4. Reduce heat; add butter, smashed garlic, and thyme.

  5. Spoon-baste filets for 1–2 minutes.

  6. Transfer to a warm plate or 400°F oven to finish to desired doneness.

  7. Rest filets 5–7 minutes and finish with a pat of butter and flaky salt.
