Seattle Teriyaki Takeout Burger pulls straight from late-night West Coast counter energy—juicy beef glossed in sweet-savory teriyaki, American cheese melting into every edge, and caramelized pineapple bringing that sticky, grilled sweetness. All of it tucked into a soft pretzel bun and finished with burger sauce, because this isn’t about what seed you got in the Big Game Burger Series—it’s about burgers that show up ready to win the moment.

Ingredients

    blank

    • ½ cup soy sauce

    • â…“ cup brown sugar

    • ¼ cup water

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

    • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional but recommended)

    • 2 tsp minced garlic (about 2 cloves)

    • 1 tsp grated ginger (or ½ tsp ground ginger)

    • Thickener: 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water

    blank

    • ½ cup mayonnaise

    • 2 tbsp ketchup

    • 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish

    • 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice

    • Pinch of salt

    • Optional: ¼ tsp garlic powder, ¼ tsp onion powder

    Directions

    1. Make the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small saucepan, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer for 2–3 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 30–60 seconds until glossy and slightly thick. Set aside for drizzling.

    2. Make the Burger Sauce: Mix all Thousand Island Burger Sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth.

    3. Toast the Buns: Toast La Brea Bakery Pretzel Buns in a pan with a little butter (or in a toaster) until golden.

    4. Sear the Pineapple: Pat pineapple rings dry. Sear in a pan for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Drizzle a small amount of teriyaki sauce over them. (Chef’s Tip: Fresh pineapple sears best when patted thoroughly dry first.)

    5. Cook the Patties: Form beef into 4 thin patties. Season with Spiceology Teriyaki Takeout seasoning. Sear thin patties for 2–3 minutes per side (or 4–5 minutes for thick patties).

    6. Melt the Cheese: Add cheese to patties and cover the pan for 30 seconds to melt. Drizzle teriyaki sauce over the melted cheese.

    7. Assemble: Spread burger sauce on both bun halves. Layer the cheesy patties, followed by seared pineapple. Add an optional extra drizzle of teriyaki sauce, close the bun, and serve hot.
