Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1/2 yellow onion, diced
-
1 green bell pepper, diced
-
3 strips of thick cut bacon
-
2 Tbsp Spiceology Smoky Honey Habanero seasoning
-
1 Tbsp tomato paste
-
1/2 cup beef stock
-
Burger buns
-
Optional, crispy onions
Directions
Dice: your pepper and onion and slice your bacon into lardons.
Cook your bacon in a medium-high heat pan to render and crisp up. Remove once cooked making sure not to get too crispy.
Add in your onions and peppers to the same pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, adding in 1 Tbsp of Spiceology Smoky Honey Habanero. Remove and add with the bacon.
Cook your ground beef. When it’s almost all the way cooked, make a spot in the middle of the pan for your tomato paste, let your tomato paste cook for a minute before incorporating it with your beef.
Season with 1 Tbsp of Spiceology Smoky Honey Habanero, mix in your beef stock, peppers, onions and bacon. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes. If it starts to dry out, add in some more beef stock.
Toast your buns, and pile your Sloppy Joe high! Top with crispy onions, if using (a great way to add texture) and devour!!
