This is a love letter to the old-school folded dumpling—the careful pleats, the patience, the muscle memory—and a shortcut for when you want that same crave without the ceremony. Smash juicy chicken laced with garlic, ginger, chili oil, and Smoky Honey Habanero straight onto a wonton, pan-sear it hard until the chicken caramelizes and the wrapper shatters, and suddenly you’ve got crispy-bottom, juicy-top dumplings in minutes. All the soul of tradition, none of the folding stress, and a sweet-heat finish that sticks around just long enough to make you reach for one more.

Ingredients
- 1 lbs ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1” knob of ginger
- 4 green onions
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp chili oil
-
1 tbsp Spiceology’s Smoky Honey Habanero
- 1 tbsp Japanese BBQ sauce or soy sauce
- Wonton wrappers.
- Sesame oil, as needed
- Cabbage for serving (optional)
Directions
- In a bowl mix together your ground chicken, minced garlic and ginger, half of your chopped green onions, rice wine vinegar, chili oil, Japanese BBQ sauce and Smoky Honey Habanero seasoning.
- Taking 1 wonton wrapper at a time, spread an even layer of chicken on one side of your wonton wrapper.
- Once all of your wontons are ready, heat some sesame oil in a large pan. Once hot add your dumplings chicken side down, cook for 3-4 mins or until golden brown, flip and cook for another 2 mins, until the wrapper is crispy on the other side.
- Serve with some shredded cabbage and your garnishes and enjoy the easiest dumplings you have ever made.

Recipe Note
Let the sesame oil get properly hot before the dumplings hit the pan. Don’t move them for the first 3–4 minutes—this is where the chicken browns and the flavor really builds.
