Affogato has become a go-to dessert for coffee lovers because it delivers big flavor with almost no effort—just ice cream, hot espresso, and a minute of your time. It’s the kind of treat that feels elevated without any actual fuss, which is exactly why it shows up everywhere from cafés to home kitchens. When you add caramel and a little Brown Butter Cookie richness the result is easy, elevated, and indulgent. Simple ingredients, fast payoff—that’s the magic of affogato.

Brown Butter Cookie Affogato

Ingredients

  • Scoop of vanilla ice cream (we used Tillamook)

  • Caramel sauce (we used Ghirardelli)

  • 1 Tbsp Brown Butter Cookie Spice Blend

  • Shot of espresso

Directions

  1. Drizzle the inside of your glass with the caramel sauce.

  2. Add a scoop (or two) of ice cream.

  3. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of Brown Butter Cookie on the ice cream.

  4. Brew a shot of espresso and pour over the Brown Butter Cookie and ice cream while hot.

  5. Drizzle a little more caramel sauce. Eat and try not to make another.

Hot Espresso, Cold Ice Cream, Zero Regrets

An affogato is a classic Italian dessert made by pouring hot espresso over cold vanilla ice cream. It’s simple, bold, and perfectly balanced between bitter, sweet, and creamy.

Absolutely. Strong brewed coffee, mocha pot coffee, or even concentrated cold brew heated up will work. The key is hot, bold coffee to melt the ice cream just right.

Brown Butter Cookie adds rich, caramelized warmth with hints of brown sugar and spice. It turns a simple affogato into a bakery-style dessert with deeper flavor and extra indulgence.
