These smoked BBQ beans have a lot going on, and Chef Christian shows you just how easy it is to throw these together and let them do their thing on the grill. Our Spiceology X Derek Wolf Maple Bourbon blend adds the perfect kick of sweetness to these meaty beans.

Smoked Maple Bourbon Bacon & Sausage BBQ Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons and 1 separate tablespoon Spiceology X Derek Wolf Maple Bourbon Blend

  • 2 tablespoons Spicy Brown Mustard

  • 3 cans Dark Red Kidney Beans (drained)
  • 1 lb Bacon (chunked)
  • 1 lb Smoked Sausage (thinly sliced)
  • 1 ½ cups White Onion (medium dice)

  • 2 cups Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Blackstrap Molasses

  • 1 cup Brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat smoker to 250° F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine bacon, sausage, and diced onion. Fold in 2 tablespoons of Spiceology Maple Bourbon blend.

  3. Add tomatoes to the bowl and gentle mix, taking care to not smash the tomatoes.
  4. Transfer mix to a large seasoned cast iron skillet.
  5. Smoke for 45 minutes stirring once.
  6. Add beans and remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  7. Increase heat on the smoker to 425° F and finish cooking for the remaining 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  8. Remove from heat, serve at the cookout. You will be invited to the next cookout.
