Derek Wolf | Nashville Hot Chicken | BBQ Rub
Unlike a traditional Nashville Hot blend that can be cayenne forward, Derek Wolf’s take includes a balanced sweet heat. This seasoning still brings that same vibrant color profile and application, but the unique sweet heat with cane sugar, chili powder, and smoked paprika has made this a best seller and fan favorite.
Keep this versatile all-natural spice blend on the kitchen counter or pro pantry shelf to add a slightly sweet Nashville Hot kick to whatever you’re making.

What Is Nashville Hot?
If you’ve ever been to Nashville, Tennessee you have most likely gotten your hands on some Nashville Hot Chicken. A local delicacy, this fried chicken combines spicy and sweet, to offer a punch of flavor and a balance on the palate when eating. The heat and the sweet meld together with the juicy chicken to offer an incredible experience.
The Nashville Hot flavor combines sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic and onion to provide a moderately spicy flavor.
How Can The Nashville Hot Rub Be Used?
At Spiceology, we created this blend to elevate your favorite BBQ recipes, partnering with Chef Derek Wolf of Over the Fire Cooking, to ensure it adds flavor to any BBQ you make.
The best way to use this rub would be as a dry rub for BBQ. Obviously, the best protein to put it on is chicken, such as a grilled thigh or breast, but the rub can also add to any pork, beef or lamb cuts as well. It can also be mixed into your favorite marinades to add that sweet and spicy kick!
