Ingredients
-
1 lb top sirloin (around 1/4-inch thick)
-
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour 1/4 cup Crisco / shortening
-
1 Tbsp Spiceology Salt Pepper Garlic
-
1 tsp Spiceology Smoked Paprika
-
1/8 cup Spiceology Vampire Killer blend
-
1/2 cup yellow onion (chopped)
-
1 10.5 oz can condensed beef consommé
-
1/2 cup water
-
1 lb cremini mushrooms (sliced)
-
1/2 cup sour cream
-
1 bag frozen matchstick / shoestring French fries
-
2 Tbsp parsley (chopped) (optional garnish)
Directions
Cut the sirloin into strips (around 1 1/2-inch long by ¼ inch thick slices). Pat down strips with a paper towel.
Mix the flour, Spiceology Salt Pepper Garlic and Spiceology Smoked Paprika.
Add beef strips into the flour mixture and toss until meat is well-coated.
Reserve remaining flour mixture and set aside.
Melt shortening in a Dutch oven or large skillet over medium heat. Add a drop of water to the melted shortening. If it pops and bubbles, you’re ready to fry. Add sirloin strips and brown both sides well. Add onions and continue cooking until onions are translucent.
Stir in remaining flour mixture, can of consomme, and water. Bring to a low boil for sauce to thicken.
Add sliced mushrooms and Spiceology Vampire Killer blend.
Cover with lid and drop to low heat, cooking slowly for at least 30 minutes and up to an hour, stirring occasionally.
Toss frozen French fries with 1 Tbsp Spiceology Vampire Killer. Add your French fries to the oven or air fryer and cook until crispy.
Remove lid and continue to cook over low heat until gravy has slightly thickened.
In a mixing bowl, add a small amount of gravy and fold in the sour cream - making sure to not curdle the cream. Add sour cream mixture to the pot and stir well.
Serve Vampire Killer Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff over crispy fries and dig in!
