Mother Sauce: Sauce Tomat
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 45 minutes
- Total Time: 1 hour
- Yield: 4–6 servings 1x
Ingredients

- Olive Oil
- 1 Onion, diced
- 4 Garlic, Thinly Sliced
- 2.5 quarts Tomato, Canned Whole Cored
- Salt to taste
- Spiceology Black Pepper Ground to taste
- Spiceology Basil to taste
- Spiceology Garlic Granules to taste
- Spiceology Onion Granules to taste
Instructions
- In a medium to large pot, sauté your onions on medium to low heat until lightly brown.
- Add garlic and stir until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Using a food mill with a medium coarse setting, mill your tomatoes directly into the pan with the onion and garlic (or you can mill prior to cooking like in the video).
- Add in basil, salt and pepper to desired taste.
- Cook on a low simmer for 45 minutes.
- Sauce is ready to be served or store to develop a derivative of for making another dish like shakshuka.
