Chef Christian shares this super-easy flavor hack recipe for a seriously amped-up pull-apart bread. It's crunchy, it's gooey-cheesy, it's pesto-herbaceous. You're going to love it. Add the handful of ingredients to your next Costco shopping list - you can get everything you need there. Not sure if your local Costco carries Greek Freak? Check our store locator here.
Author: Chef Christian GillIngredients
-
4 tablespoons Spiceology Greek Freak Mediterranean Blend
- 1 Costco / Kirkland fresh French bread loaf
- 1 cup Unsalted butter (soft and room temp)
- 4 cups Costco / Kirkland Romano Parmesan Cheese Blend
- 1 cup Costco / Kirkland Pesto
Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F. - In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of soft butter and Spiceology Greek Freak Mediterranean Blend. Mix until the butter has softened more and the Greek Freak appears to be evenly dispersed.
- Slice the French loaf into slices 4/5 of the way to bottom of the loaf. The loaf should still be intact with all the slices. It should "accordion" and not fall apart. Place loaf on a large piece of heavy duty aluminum foil on a baking sheet.
Apply Greek Freak butter in between each slice making sure to reserve 2 tablespoons worth of the butter. - Follow with the pesto and repeat.
- Follow with the cheese and repeat making sure to stuff with cheese. - Spread the rest of the butter on top of the loaf and spread some of the remaining tub of pesto on top.
- Using the aluminum foil under the bread, roll it up around the bread loaf to encase.
- Place in the oven for 30-45 minutes.
- Uncover, let cool for 5 minutes or attempt to eat it while it's molten lava hot. I don't recommend doing that later, but that's what I did. (It was worth it.)
