New to our Orange Gochugaru Chile blend?
When Gochugaru chile flakes are combined with the citrusy sweetness of real orange powder, the result is amplified fruit notes alongside a flavorful heat - aka deliciousness.Author: Chef Christian Gill
Ingredients
- 1 lb Cottage Ham (pre-sliced)
- 8 slices Provolone
- 1 pack King's Hawaiian Rolls
- 4 Blood Oranges
- 2 Tbsp Spiceology Orange Gochugaru Chile blend
- 1 qt Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter
- 2 Tbsp White and Black Sesame Seeds
Directions
- Chop all four Blood Oranges into pieces and put in a blender to blend to a pulp with the rinds.
- In a medium sauce pot, combine pulp, 1 cup of water, 4 cups of sugar, and 2 tbsp of Spiceology Orange Gochugaru Chile blend.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and let simmer for 20 minutes.
- To check viscosity, freeze a plate or miniature sheet pan and place a spoon full on the sheet. Drag a spoon through it, if it takes 1 second to come back together then it is done.
- Brush a cooking sheet with melted butter.
- Horizontally slice the rolls in half, leaving the tops and bottoms together.
- Place the bottom layer on a cookie sheet and put a layer of marmalade on the rolls.
- Layer the ham then the cheese and place under the broiler until golden brown.
- Pull from oven, turn the broiler to low, and place the top bun sheet on. Brush with remaining melted butter.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top buns and return to the broiler on the lowest rack for two minutes.
- Remove from oven and cut up, eat up, share if you want.
